Other Worlds Are Breathing 2004
.
.
In January 2004, Magic Lantern Foundation organised Other Worlds Are Breathing, a four-day film festival for the World Social Forum, in Mumbai. In this festival, 84 documentaries from all over the world on the dominant themes of the forum were screened to packed audiences.
Films such as The Corporation, War and Peace, Words on Water and Seeing is Believing, to name only a few, were some of the highlights of the film festival.
The festival, apart from generating a lot of energy and encouragement to have similar events in future, has also put Magic Lantern in touch with a large number of filmmakers from all over the world, who are excited about making their films available to viewers in India.
A collection of films from this festival has travelled to many parts of India, such as Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and in cities like New Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata. The films were also screened by groups in Thailand, Germany, Italy and USA.. The films are still available to any group wanting to screen them in their regions.
Following is a list of the films as per the different categories that were shown at the Other Worlds Are Breathing film festival. In case you are interested to show these films, or some of these films, in your area, most of these films are available with us at Magic Lantern Foundation. We also have a printed brochure that we will be happy to provide you. We have also provided email links for you to contact the directors, producers or sources directly.
