COLOURS BLACK
Director: Mamta Murthy
English (subtitled), 31 min, 2001, India
Looking for a way to break the silence around sexual abuse in the family, to find a new articulation for the experience away from the meanings of privileged language, this film constructs four narratives from the point of view of children who have been abused.
As the narratives accumulate, the child's world of colour, rhyme, toys, games, fantasy and bedtime story becomes fragmented by the jagged adult memories of abuse.
